I've "re-opened" my main site, Geek Gyrl Friday, and I'm accepting clients, again, for a la carte online, virtual assistant work. HOWEVER....I've also opened a new "sister site" - Pixies 'n Pixels. I'm accepting commission work through PixNPix, and I've already completed a few pieces for clients. I could nto have done it without inspiration and material from some amazing stock artists here on dA, so in addition to the listings they each received within my posted artworks, AND adding them to the permanent, organic list of my fave stock artists on PixNPix, I also want to give them each a shout out, through this journal feature.
To see the list on PixNPix, hit my site: www.pixiesandpixels.com/stock-…
For this cover for The Gallows Flower, I utilized stock from myself (yeah, I have a rapidly growing cllection of my own stock images here on dA, now, too) and more importantly for the purposes of this article, from:
The modeling stock that Bugidifino creates is some of the best I've seen in a long time. It's also incredibly easy to use, and she's a delight to interact with, too.
Zememz makes some really nice vector pieces, especially for works that have a magical, or gothic flavoring. I'm very glad I found her works here on dA.
I created 2 version of the cover for Death's Lullaby, so I'll note all of the stock artists for both versions, here:
I needed good, moody images from cemeteries for this commission, that would also play well with others. I got this, in spades, from these three stock artists. They all have a great eye for the dark, evocative images my client needed as elements for his cover.
Many, many thanks to all these talented artists. And please, go check out the links, and fave some of their work for yourself. You won't regret it.

Sheee's Back!
Well, you know how it is when you take that left turn at Albuquerque... I've been traveling, job to job, dealing with health, Life, death, more moving & the contemplation of which really is better: Star Wars or Star Trek.
I had to drop out of Graphic Design school in late November 2011; that's about when I also stopped posting. Epilepsy took up pretty much all of my life for about 20 months, then "Life happened". I'm getting back into creating art, again. For now, it's the old-fashioned way; I begin with a pencil, an eraser, a camera & some imagination. I'm slowly trying to go back to the digital arts, as well, but I've really enjoye
gone for bit, but not fogotte
I'm writing this to you from the hospital. Sadly, I don't mean I'm visiting, or taking testure photos. I was admitted, yesterday, and tomorrow I'll have an endoscopy to determine which surgeon's theory is correct. This means you my not see much art or sock from me for a bit.
Buyers and Logo Artists Beware
I'm still new to the professional design world; I limit myself to cover art for books, CDs; online promotional tiles & animated GIFs; and logos. Yeah....I design ORIGINAL logos. It's not easy - it's not just knowing how to use Illustrator or Photoshop - and it's sure as hades not copying someone else's design. It IS about getting in touch with your client's goal for their design; and marrying their desires with your skills, to create something wonderful - something unique for the client - something ORIGINAL.
